Introduction
Ghost-native building blocks for a publication theme you own.
Ghostcn copies Handlebars partials and CSS into your Ghost theme. The files are yours to inspect, style, and commit. Ghost renders the templates and handles memberships; Ghostcn is a development tool, not a runtime service.
Create a theme
Start with a complete Tailwind or vanilla CSS theme.
Add to an existing theme
Keep your templates and build pipeline.
Browse components
Find installation commands, Handlebars examples, and styling options.
Preview with the playground
Try installed components locally before checking them in Ghost.
What to expect
- Native Ghost behavior. Components use your publication’s content, active membership tiers, and settings.
- Tailwind or vanilla CSS. Pass classes at the call site or edit your copied files directly.
- Safe updates. The npm CLI does not replace copied files on upgrade. Use reviewing updates before re-adding a component.
These docs cover Ghostcn 1.4.0. Generated starters require Ghost 5.54.1 or later. For the starter toolchain, Tailwind builds require Node 20+, and the pinned gscan validator requires Node 22.13.1+ or Node 24. Use a Node version supported by your installed Ghost release.
